Degradation: Respondus Lockdown Browser & Monitor Issues

Issue began on 2024-03-28 09:30:00 with TAMU Supported IT Service (TAMU)

Some professors and students are experiencing issues with the Respondus Lockdown Browser. The LMS support teams are continuing to work with the vendor to investigate the root cause. Degradation: Voice Over IP phone lines are down in the MSC (Resolved)

Voice Over IP phone lines are reported to be down for several organizations in the Memorial Students Center. Technicians are investigating. We will post an update as soon as it is available.

Additional Comments - 2024-03-27 09:53:41: A work around has been provided to keep the phones working throughout the rest of the maintenance window.

Degradation: TAMU Commerce WAN Circuit is down (Resolved)

Degradation: TAMU Central Texas to Tarleton Lumen Backup Circuit Down (Resolved)

Issue began on 2024-03-25 13:20:00 with WAN (TAMU) - Resolved on 2024-03-26 07:28:13

The TAMU Central Texas to Tarleton Lumen backup wide area network circuit is currently down. Since this is a backup circuit, there is no expected impact to connectivity at this time. Engineers have been made aware and are actively investigating. There is no current time of restoration. Updates will be sent out as they are received.

Additional Comments - 2024-03-26 07:29:06: WAN Circuit appears to be back up in XYMON. Resolving issue.

Additional Comments - 2024-03-25 22:12:47: Brightspeed (the local exchange carrier) has located a fiber cut 7 miles from Stephenville, TX. The cut was caused by a utility provider's excavation. A repair crew has been dispatched and repairs are underway.

Additional Comments - 2024-03-25 16:57:48: LUMEN has determined the issue is with the local exchange carrier. Lumen has opened a ticket with the carrier for additional troubleshooting and isolation. No ETR at the moment.

Planned Maintenance : Palo Alto OS Update on Texas State Chemist and Student Counseling Services Firewalls

Maintenance Date: Saturday, March 30, 2024 Maintenance Time: 7 pm (19:00) to 10 pm (22:00) Maintenance Details: The Palo Alto firewalls protecting specified building networks will undergo software updates to address software vulnerabilities and bugs. Impact to Customers: The following buildings/departments will experience network disruptions for 10 - 20 minutes for each reboot of the firewalls. The entire maintenance window has been reserved in case there are any issues.
